Bridie’s Blog is the Coolest (:Fowarded Messages/Spam
I just checked my emails, as I had forgotten my password and I logged on and I had 29 new messages!! And none of these messages were of any importance to me at all. To be honest I don’t care if I’m going to “die in 7 days” if I don’t foward a message on to “20 friends”. I can’t believe that people actually still send these around. There are even scams like “if you don’t foward this message your hotmail will be closed, but if you do it will turn green and wont be deleted”. They have even put a link to proof on there, but if you actually read closely the link is from 8 or 9 years ago when they had just started out. I used to send these around, because I thought they were real, seeing as I was getting them from friends, but I soon found out that they are all a scam and never even work. Some of them can be fun like changing one letter in each word to make a new word, and see how many words you can make, but I don’t want to hear that “Bloody Mary died and will haunt you if you don’t foward this message to all your friends.” People even think that if they say someone is dieing of cancer and if you foward this message around so and so will donate 10 cents for every friend it is sent to. Like this is going to be real ?
So why do people still send around this spam? I’m sure they are not that stupid to believe that it actually works. It’s a waste of time, and just click delete!!
Wellington Camp…
It finally happened, we had been waiting since last year, and it was finally the day.
I got up at 6.00 as I was so excited, and ate my breakfast, did my hair teeth and face and then finshed packing absolutley everything. Then we got in the car and drove to the school.
We waited at the school for about half an hour, got on the bus and then we drove off. The bus ride wasn’t as boring as I thought it would be, we sang songs, took pictures and slept(well we didn’t)…
After we got to the camp we jumped on the jumping pilllow,

Our messy cabin
unpacked our stuff, had dinnner and went too bed…
My favourite day was when we went to the zoo, and the soundhouse. I really enjoyed camp and will remember it all the time.

Shop Owner Fights Back To Robber
Mr Sharpe had recently moved from Wellington to Nelson and was the proud new owner of the Suburban Store. But not all things were as great as they seem. At 7.45pm a teenager came into the store and had his back to the counter. Mr Sharpe went to say hello to him thinking nothing was wrong until the teenager turned around. He was wearing a hoodie and dark sunglasses and held a broken bottle to Mr Sharpes face. He demanded money which Mr Sharpe gave to him and also demanded ciggarettes. Before he gave the ciggarettes Mr Sharpe decided enough was enough and threw the till at him. At that point Mrs Sharpe walked in and even though the till did hit the teenager he was able to run away. Police arrested him 10 minutes later and he will appear in youth court. He was 15 years old and will be charged with aggravated robbery. Mr Sharpe said the event has not put them off their buisness and they are happy to continue.
I think Mr Sharpe did a great thing and he did it to protect himself. Teenagers like this should not get away with it and I am glad he has been arrested. Shop owners shouldn’t have to worry about being burgled or shot when they are in their own store. These people are getting away with it too much and I think all shop owners should stand up like Mr Sharpe did.

The Finals
Everyone’s screaming and all are nervous,
Just two goals seperate the winner and the loser,
The goal shoot on the mini marshmallows shoots and it goes in,
Then it is the Hotchocs passoff,
They get it to the goal,
The goal keep intercepts the ball,
The ball goes out and its the mini marshmallows pass in,
Then the worst sound happens,
The buzzer goes.
We had lost the final by ONE point,
We had tried our best and it was a great game to play.
5 things to think about.
I decided to compile a list of things to think about. I got some ideas from the site http://www.gadzillionthings.net/
and I am going to answer them with my thoughts.
- If peanut butter cookies are made with peanut butter what are girl scout cookies made with?
I think this is a really funny question to think about. It is true that if peanut butter cookies are made with peanut butter what are girl scout cookies made of. I had a giggle to myself when I read this and so did my sister. I think this question could create a big discussion in a classroom. I’m not really sure what the answer to this question would be but it did bring a smile to my face.
- Why do schools use a three day suspension to punish kids for ditching?
I think this is a great question. If kids ditch school they obviously don’t want to be at school and then their punishment is that they aren’t allowed at school for three days. I think as a punishment they should be made to go to school in the weekend because they used the school’s time to have fun the school can use their time to teach them things they need to learn.
- Why is it that when teachers ask for volunteers to raise their hand to answer the question, they always ask the ones who haven’t raised their hand?
This is a true question. If you are going to ask your children a question then why get them to put their hands up if you’re going to pick someone who doesn’t want to answer it or hasn’t put their hand up? If you aren’t wanting to answer a question or you don’t know the answer you don’t put your hand up and then the teacher calls on you anyway.
- Why is it that when you look up a word, it’s usually described by yet another word you have to look up?
- I think this is a good question for me as my class would agree. This is a good question to think about. As in the dictionary the definition for gullible the meaning says easily deceived or duped. See now I would have to look up deceived and duped.
- If you were born on February 29th of a leap year, then when is your birthday?
This has always confused me and it probably always will. You would be very lucky to be born on a day that only comes around every 4 years. I think this could be a good and a bad thing. The good thing would be that you would feel special and wouldn’t get very old ha ha. But the bad thing would be that you would only have a birthday every three years.
Disgusting Video`s
Francis Stephen Glenski, 48, an IT teacher, pleaded guilty in Auckland District Court last week to two charges of filming girls under the age of 16 and one count of possessing objectionable images on his computer.
The Herald on Sunday today reported that suppression orders preventing publication of Glenski’s name, workplace and occupation lapsed after the guilty plea.
It said police had raised questions about whether Avondale College, Glenski’s employer, met its obligations as a caregiver to the international students.
Police raided Glenski’s home in March after being alerted by Avondale College principal Brent Lewis.
A colleague who was fixing Glenski’s laptop had found a file with hundreds of images and films of under-age girls.
Nine of the films were shot last year through a hidden grille and showed two Asian exchange students taking a shower, while a photograph of a neighbour’s young daughter, sitting on a trampoline with her genitals exposed, was also found on the computer.
When police executed a search warrant they found the bathroom at the North Shore address matched the one in the footage, as did the trampoline.
After the police raid, Glenski’s four children were taken into Child Youth and Family care and are now being cared for by their mother in the United States.
Glenski will be sentenced in Auckland District Court in October.
The charge of making child pornography carries a maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment.
Education Ministry guidelines state schools must have “robust” procedures for the selecting and monitoring of homestay carers and residences.
The newspaper reported a statement from Mr Lewis and Avondale College’s board of trustees said the case showed the school’s systems to protect student wellbeing were “rigorous and effective”.
“While the offending did not occur at the school, this matter only came to light because of the checks and balances within our system.”
I think this is sick and wrong for anybody to want to do this. He is a teacher so is dealing with students all the time. I would hate to think what other thing`s he could have done to these girl`s. These girl`s don`t seem much older than me so to think he could do this to friend`s of mine or even me! This is a horrible thing to happen and I hope he get`s charged for it. I hope this doesn`t happen again.
My Birthday.
August the 4th is tomorrow and that`s my birthday! I`m soo excited and can`t wait. For my birthday I would like a ghd(for all those who don`t know that`s like the best hair straightner you can get!) to go shopping, grease on dvd and the sims 2 . I am also getting my hair highlighted red on Tuesday!
Today I went up town with my best ever friend Hayleigh as a birthday treat. We went and saw The Dark Knight. It was MINT! Its such a cool movie you should all watch it sometime! We went to McDonald`s ( No surprise) and went and caught up with Ngapere, Jah and Hakirau. LoL!
I really enjoyed my day and can`t wait til` tomorrow. I`m sure Mrs Crowe will enjoy it just as much as I do ! (NOT)
